5 iPhone Hacks You Probably Didn't Know About

From scanning QR codes and maintaining FaceTime eye contact to tapping the back of your phone for screenshots — here are 5 lesser-known iPhone hacks worth knowing.

We're back with another Top 5, this time switching it up and focusing on the iPhone! All Apple products have so much functionality it's almost impossible to utilize it all. Here are 5 lesser-known iPhone features worth knowing about.

1. Quickly and Easily Scan QR Codes

QR codes are becoming more prevalent in daily life — whether it's accessing restaurant menus, connecting to WiFi, or making payments. You can add a QR code scanner shortcut directly to your Control Center.

Head to Settings > Control Center, scroll down to More Controls, and tap the plus icon next to Code Scanner. Once added, just swipe down from the top right corner to access Control Center and tap the Code Scanner icon.

2. Maintain Eye Contact While FaceTiming

Since the FaceTime camera is positioned above the screen, you're usually not looking the other person in the eyes. Apple has a fix for that! Head to Settings > FaceTime, scroll down, and toggle on Eye Contact. Voilà — perfect eye contact every time!

3. Tap the Back of Your iPhone to Take a Screenshot

Instead of pressing the side button and volume up simultaneously, you can double-tap the back of your phone to take a screenshot. To set this up, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap. Tap Double Tap and select Screenshot. Give it a try — it's a game changer!

4. Access More Detailed Camera Controls

The iPhone camera has a lot of hidden functionality. To access more detailed controls, open the Camera app and swipe up from the middle of the screen (when holding the phone vertically). If holding horizontally, swipe away from the Shutter button. A whole row of advanced controls will appear!

5. See a Full List of All Your Apps

For the app hoarders out there — this one's for you! To see a complete alphabetical list of all apps installed on your iPhone, swipe left on your home screen until you reach App Library, then swipe down from the middle of the screen. Perfect for finding forgotten apps or freeing up storage.
